A website in the making

My apologies for my absence. My computer decided it’s life was better served elsewhere and I was shut down from the world for a month. I have some big plans for this whole site in the next month, so keep checking back!

Recently, one of my good friends Grant came to me for a logo design for a start-up company he was working on with a friend of his, Adam. The company was going to be called Adant Technology Solutions, with a goal of helping people with their technology issues. After talking to Grant and finding out more about what they were looking for, what Adant meant (Adam + Grant = Adant), and exactly what technology solutions they were going to provide, I sat down with pencil and paper and started sketching ideas.

As a bass fishing addict, I had to share this video. Hopefully the ice melts on Lake Erie soon so I can get back out there. I believe I’ll be joining my second bass club this season, which means I’m hoping to learn a lot more and future pictures of (hopefully huge) bass for you to admire. Hopefully that will be a good change from all the design posts that should start up soon!

It’s New Years day…2010. I’m sure everyone went out and had fun celebrating last night. Me? I stayed home and went to bed around 11:45. Three years ago today, actually almost to the minute of me writing this, I received a phone call from my dad to come home because the paramedics were doing CPR on my mom and it didn’t look good. Talk about a wake-up call…that was the last thing I was expecting to hear around 9am when I answered the phone hung over from a night of fun. I don’t think I’ve ever moved so fast or been so scared in my life though. Getting home was a blur, and not because I probably maintained a speed of at least 100mph. My dad kept the updates coming but it wasn’t looking good.

When you’re 6′5 and have a size 13-16.5 shoe (you’d be amazed at how much it varies), finding something that fits the first time is impossible. Aside from my late pair, I haven’t been able to walk into a store and try shoes/boots on in a decade. Instead, I have to order online and that definitely leads to a lot of returned products. However, tonight I opened a magical gift from my dad…steel toed, steel shanked, and even waterproofed Tim’s. I really wanted the John Deere version of these boots but they are out of stock until March at every store in America…trust me on that one. However, I can’t wait that long and that’s what leads me to this post.

Being close to the holidays and the time of exchanging gifts, I feel that I have a necessary topic to discuss.  Today while riding back from Best Buy with my father, I witnessed him do something I am totally against.  Have you ever pulled up to a multiple way stop and waved someone on, only to get what I like to call a send back?  Today, my dad received the gift of proceeding across an intersection from the man on the other side who wanted to turn left in front of us and was there before us.  Like the occasional nice person my dad is, he gave the man a send back and I was appalled and stated my disgrace for what he just did.

My first blog was powered by Moveable Type and I must say, I do like Wordpress A LOT better.  However, I’m still learning how everything works as I try to set this up.  Why has it taken 10 days for another update?  Good question, but as much as I’d like to spend every minute of the day getting this site up, I can’t commit that much time for it yet. Maybe in the meantime, I’ll start blogging about the stuff that is going through my head on a daily basis. Hopefully everyone can handle that!
